WAR + FOG
War + Fog is an archival documentation project of collected film slides. A refurbished Kodak Carousel Projector was found in an antique thrift shop. This was used to display a collection of Vietnam film slides taken by an American aircraft mechanic while deployed. When slides were inserted into the carousel, the images revealed candids from airplane cockpits, the base and bunkers, and the Vietnamese people.
Some photographs depicted young Vietnamese children confronting soldiers, while other villagers are seen with apprehensive expressions. Throughout this archival investigative process, these slides were scanned and documented to uncover a deeper relationship between culture and war.
